It is the vision of the Pasadena YMCA to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities and contribute powerfully to the quality of life in Pasadena, Sierra Madre and Altadena. Nestled against the San Gabriel Mountains and 10 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles, the Pasadena YMCA's service area is very diverse; 53.4% are white, 33.4% are Latino, 14.4% are African American, 10% are Asian.

In 2006, 2000 families and their children participated in Pasadena YMCA community programs. Offered at four schools, our before and after school programs serve over 200 children, 44 children participated in Y-SPIRIT, 1,500 youth played in Pasadena YMCA youth sports programs last year, and summer day camp had 400 registrations.

In 2006 the YMCA experienced program growth: serving 2,126 children and their families - a 46% increase over the prior year.

Four after school programs touched the lives of more than 150 children each day.

Y-SPIRIT continued to offer a year round program for teenagers with developmental disabilities.

Over 100 different families were served by our summer day camp.
#
YMCA Youth Sports reached over 1,500 kids and their families.
